Chief Mixologist
Chief Mixologist Lynn House is a graduate of The Academy of Advanced Culinary Mixology, the Academy of Spirits and Fine Service, Bar Smarts, The British Drama Academy, and Miami University. Prior to taking on Blackbird's cocktail, spirit, and beer programs, Lynn was Chief Mixologist and Beverage Director at Graham Elliot, as well as an original Master Bartender at The Drawing Room, and General Manager and Beverage Director at Hot Chocolate.
Lynn has been featured in Gentleman's Quarterly, Esquire, Ebony, Saveur, Bon Appetite, Martha Stewart, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Sun Times, Time Out Chicago, and Chicago Magazine. A stanch competitor, Lynn has many wins under her belt: she was a national finalist in Grey Goose Punch Wars 2012, Bacardi Legacy 2011, Benedictine/Esquire Magazine's Alchemist of Our Age 2010, 42 Below World Cocktail Championship 2010, and Bombay Sapphire's Most Inspired Bartender 2009. Lynn was the 2010 Absolut Rebel Grand Champion.
In 2011 Lynn was recognized by Gaz Regan as one of the Top 20 Fabulous Bartenders Globally. Her cocktails have also made appearances in both the 2011 and 2012 editions of the Top 101 Cocktails in the World. In 2011 Lynn was recognized by Cheeky Magazine as one of the 10 Top Women in the City of Chicago, and by Chicago Reader as one of its People of the Year. Most recently, she was inducted into the Dame Hall of Fame, honoring excellence in the art of the bar.
Lynn makes regular appearances on the You and Me This Morning Show. In 2012 she was a Grand Prize Winner at Sundance Channel's Beyond the Bar, and was featured as part of their Iconoclast Series.
